cardboard box with folders and office supplies on floor during relocation

When you have to move your business, whether for positive reasons (you’ve outgrown your current space) or more challenging ones (the landlord keeps increasing your rent), the process can be chaotic.

In our considerable experience, the major stressor we see for business owners is the impact the relocation has on their customers. The last thing you want is an interruption that negatively impacts your ability to deliver your products and services.

Rather than risk a negative customer experience, it’s best to prepare and partner with professional commercial movers who understand the potential pitfalls and, more importantly, how to navigate around them. Quite literally in some cases.

While our goal here isn’t to scare you, we do want to make you aware of a few issues that could undermine your commercial move.

Risks of Commercial Relocation

Like a residential move, moving your business can feel stressful and overwhelming. Unlike moving house, however, a commercial relocation comes with its own unique challenges.

  1. Tricky Timing

Yes, timing is everything and it’s critical that you consider your brand’s busy season before you schedule your move. Granted, if something unforeseen has occurred and you find yourself forced to move ASAP, that’s okay. However, we recommend you contact a reliable moving company before you make any moves. Pun intended.

And speaking of reliability…

  1. Bad Actors

Not all moving companies are worthy of your trust or hard-earned money. Be sure to do your research and ask colleagues at other companies who they’ve used in the past and would recommend. And, hey! There’s always the internet and Google reviews, which are easy to access and should help paint a fairly clear picture of who you’re potentially dealing with.

You have handled a number of my clients with respect, dignity,

and professionalism and your prices are reasonable. I love that I can refer

you with complete confidence! Thank you for offering great, local service.”

  1. Heavy (Very Heavy!) Lifting

Office furniture, industrial applications, equipment of any kind can be heavy and certainly costly. This isn’t the time to gamble with potential damage or loss to those components that are critical to your bottomline.
