It’s finally starting to feel like fall in New England! To celebrate PSLs, changing leaves, and a little crispness in the air, we’re sharing some of our favorite autumn activities in Central New Hampshire.

Holly Jolly Halloween at Santa’s Village

Whether you’re excited about Halloween or already looking forward to Christmas, Santa’s VIllage is open weekends all month long! From Christmas carols to trick-or-treating, you can get all your holiday adventures in one spot.

Castle in the Clouds

Built at the start of the 20th century, Lucknow Estate at Castle in the Clouds features activities, event space, and views that are second to none. You can take tours of the historic mansion, visit the gardens, or use it as a starting point for longer hikes. If you want to get into the spirit of Halloween, there are graveyard tours and other Halloween events!

Lake Cruises

Lake Winnipesaukee is one of the most famous spots in New England, and that’s for good reason. There are countless driving tours and hikes in the area, but if you want to go for something different, consider a cruise of the lake on the M/S Washington. Choose from a variety of cruises, including foliage tours on Sundays all autumn.

Scenic Train Rides

Boating not your style? There are several train rides in the area, ranging from rustic historical railcars, to sweeping views from the top of the Mt. Washington Railway, to luxe dinner service, there’s something for everyone.

Squam Lakes Natural Science Center

Want to learn more about the plants and animals in the area? This hidden gem has hikes, a garden, cruises, and events focused on specific animals. The live animal trail includes some rescued animals where kids and adults can learn more about animals native to New Hampshire.

Get outside this autumn and find a new adventure in the region! Whether you are new to New Hampshire or a lifelong resident, there are amazing outings to explore!
