A lot of people, even locals, associate New Hampshire with beautiful autumn leaves or long winters, but summertime in the Granite State has a lot going on! Whether you’re a longtime local or a new transplant, here are some events and activities to enjoy this summer.

Get outside with a tour of the Lakes Region

The lakes region is famous for its beautiful scenery—take a road trip and tour the region to really enjoy all that the area has to offer! You can find a secluded cabin near where On Golden Pond was filmed, take a cruise on lake Winnipesaukee, or go camping. There’s no wrong choice!

Beat the Heat with Local Art

Not a fan of summer heat and humidity? There are lots of options for the artistically-inclined, from galleries to museums. This exhibit of floral art going back to the 1800s is running all summer, and can allow you to enjoy the outdoors, indoors!

Community Art for Kids

Looking for something for kids? Your local library is a great option for regular activities and events. The Laconia library is asking children to help them decorate a community mural. No matter where you’re located, finding local library events calendars is a great way to find activities for the little ones.

Or Enjoy Grown Up Beverages

If you drink alcohol, there are lots of amazing local options for you in the region. We couldn’t possibly pick just one. Check out this roundup of Lakes Region breweries, wineries, and meaderies for a ton of options!

Learn some Local History

Three words: History Scavenger Hunt. How cool is that! This event is for people 13 and older (under 13s with an adult), and is going on all this month.

Whether you’re brand new to the region, have been here for ages, or are just passing through, we hope you are able to enjoy some of the many things New Hampshire has to offer in the summer!
